- Bottom car has to be removed to enable the retrieval of the upper car– In this type of system the first car is parked on a palette (tray). When the second car wishes to be parked, the bottom car is moved and positioned above the parking space to make room for the new car. When the driver of the upper car wishes to retrieve his/her car, the bottom car has to be removed from the parking space to make room for the lowering palette.
- These systems are only practical in special cases – This type of system will only be useful in cases of family/home parking lots or in a business parking lot where the car owners leave their car keys for the use of the other users or for the parking operator, in order to simplify the retrieval of the parked cars.
Note: In some systems the upper car is retrieved by tipping the upper palette forward.
